CONCEALMENT SHOOTING SCHEDULE

SHOOTING SCHEDULE

January 28th 2001

  • This is the first day of filming.  Melissa Desper drove forty miles to Charlottesville, VA  to work with David Stewart.  At the time he was a stranger to her.  She had only worked with him briefly on another low budget picture.  She is a brave creature.  (Of course she came through the whole filming process unharmed.)

February 3rd-4th 2001

  • David Harscheid came down for this weekend of filming.  It was a pleasure to work with such an experienced actor.  Having him on the set relieved a lot of tension for other first time/freshman actors.  Harscheid is famous for his between-take antics.  He is a wealth of information just itching to burst and spread to anyone who's willing to listen.  He's also a great guy.
  • During this weekend we did all of the scenes involving Francis. (The lead villain - played by Harscheid.)  We met many new actors and got everything we hoped for accomplished.  We also worked with Jason Wauer. (A veteran of low budget supporting characters.)
  • We learned a lot from this weekend about new actors.  Most of the thugs in this movie are played by first time actors.  When they got together and got comfortable.  They were brilliant.  They even stole a scene or two straight from veteran Harscheid.  It was great.

February 11th 2001

  • Love Scenes - Nuff Said.
  • Tons of Cars Scenes.

February 18th 2001

  • On this fun filled day we did a big scene.  Mica came in from outta town as well as Eric Thornett. (Piranha Pictures - www.piranha-pictures.com .)  And then of course some more thugs.  We did a woodsy scene.
  • It was a historic day for Mica.  (He is the Low Budget Stuntman as seen on www.ifilm.com and www.shortspan.com .  Look him up if you got the time.)  It was a historic day for him because this was his first feature he acted in where he had lines.  Normally in the past it was "Hey Mica throw yourself off that bridge."  or, "Mica can you hit that moving car with a bicycle going full speed?...I'll buy you a Big Mac..."

February 25th 2001

  • Onward to the Cavalier Inn of Charlottesville.  Did several great scenes here.  I'll thank them in the credits, but thanks again Cavalier Inn.
  • In the afternoon we did a scene with Melissa Desper meeting Essence Anderson.  (Essence is just one of the actors who brought along their own flavor to the script.)  After doing this scene we have just one thing to say about good old Essence.  He packs a manly punch.

March 4th 2001

  • This was the romantic meeting and first date scenes.  Everything worked out with them except for:

A) The #@$%! rain.

B)  David Stewart didn't like his outfit he wore for one of the scenes.

C) (We have found this out for many scenes since this one.)  THE BLUE SCREEN + DAVID STEWART (In front of blue screen.)=DISASTER.  Maybe it's his hair color?

  • March 11th 2001

  • Here David Stewart got a better outfit.  So we redid one of the scenes from the previous week.
  • We did a fun chase scene all over the downtown mall here in C'ville.  Originally this chase scene would have taken place in Lynchburg, VA  but Mica was unavailable for filming that day.  (The only reason to film in Lynchburg, VA  is to have Mica jump off buildings and other architecture.)  But the chase scene turned out very well.
  • More car stuff.

March 17th 2001

  • On this day we did a scene in Waynesboro, VA involving a playground and veteran toddler actor Cameron Stewart.

March 18th 2001

  • David Stewart Vs. The Tree  (You'll have to see the outtakes)
  • Also did the Walter Lawrence "Boss Scene."  Originally this scene wasn't in the movie.  All that you would have seen of Henry the Boss would have been a brief scene involving a telephone.  But David Stewart cut the Boss entirely out of the movie...Then he met Walter Lawrence.  David wrote an extra scene for Walter and put the "Telephone scene" back into the movie.  It was a pleasure to work with Walter.  He was very easy going and we did most of his stuff in only one take.

March 25-27th 2001

  • A ton of shots involving David Stewart.

March 31st-April 1st 2001

  • We did the bedroom argument scene here.  And outta this whole movie, this scene took the longest to setup.  It involved disassembling/reassembling furniture, elevating tables, rigging (lights, mics, the camera, and mini-disk recorder) in very odd and high places.
  • We did the famous Bad BBall scene.  Jonathan Stewart went out on the court and played his best.  No acting here just pure athletic basketball skills.

April 2nd-3rd

  • More detail shots with David Stewart.
  • A scene with David Stewart watching TV.  This was a fun scene in post because as David is flipping through the channels you get to see old footage from many shorts/features done in the past by both David Stewart Productions and Piranha Pictures.

April 8th-9th

  • We got lots of building shots here all around Staunton, VA.
  • We did a shot of David Stewart and Melissa Desper in a movie theater.

That's it!  Now we have to edit the entire movie using what is listed above.  Of course there will be detail shots to do.  (There always are.)  I will deal with them as I go through the editing process.
